Let's go on a ride...

The first animals to ride in a hot air balloon were a rooster, a duck and a sheep.

I enjoy the symbolism of the hot air balloon. It's a symbol of escape and voyage, but in particular an escape into fantasy and the surreal, of the mind into daydream and the subconscious.

The movement of the balloon across the body is an exploration of the link between the physical body and the psyche. The placement on the foot worked well with that idea, as our feet are representative of our own personal journey.

  2. Cuuuuuttte! You should tattoo your little balloon now, on the side of your foot! My tattoo will definitely not live up to your expectations! It's nothing as epic as a Mark Ryden backpiece, unfortunately :D But it is very "me."

As much as I adore tattoos of beautiful artworks, I think to truly love all my tattoos I will have to stand by drawing them myself- then at least I know I will love them forever cos they are my work. Plus I would be SO nervous about someone replicating such an amazing piece..Egads what if they stuffed it!

But, having said that, check these bad boys out.
